Set up the keyboard

1. Open Settings › General › Keyboard › Keyboards › Add New Keyboard and choose Rephrase.
2. Tap Rephrase in that list and turn on Allow Full Access (needed only for OpenAI).
3. In any app, tap the globe key to switch to Rephrase.

Use it

Type or select text, then tap Fix grammar or a tone (Formal, Friendly, Confident, Polite, Casual, Shorter) in the bar above the keys. Tap Undo to get your original text back.

Common questions

"Apple's model couldn't run" or "not available" — Apple's model needs an iPhone with Apple Intelligence (iPhone 15 Pro or newer) on iOS 26, with Apple Intelligence turned on in Settings. Otherwise, add an OpenAI key in the Rephrase app.

"Turn on Allow Full Access" — OpenAI needs the network. Go to Settings › General › Keyboard › Keyboards › Rephrase and turn on Allow Full Access.

"Add your OpenAI key" — get a key at platform.openai.com/api-keys and paste it in the Rephrase app.

Only part of my text changed — iOS shares only the text near the cursor with keyboards. Select the text you want to rewrite first.
